TCI Radio Control

Learn about what's supported with TCI

Last updated on 26 Oct, 2026

The ExpertSDR Transceiver Control Interface (TCI) protocol has recently seen wider adoption beyond the SDRs it was originally designed to control.

The protocol carries both audio and CAT data over a single TCP port, making setup a snap. No longer do you need complicated virtual COM ports or audio loopback devices.

RHR has adopted TCI as the de-facto method for remote station control, replacing the complex mess of virtual serial and audio devices that was previously required.

Supported Features

RHR supports a subset of TCI features for radio control and baseband audio reception and transmission. This covers nearly all modern HF digital modes.

IQ data streams are not made available by Icom radios, and, as such, are not supported by our TCI adapter.

Officially tested with: DXLog, N1MM+, WSJT-X, JTDX.
